We want
to make your experience with CLIK 3D as easy and pleasant as possible. Here are
the answers to the questions our customers ask us most often.
QUESTION: What is 3D photography?
3D photography, also called
stereo photography, involves making two or more images which, when viewed in
combination, gives the appearance of depth. We perceive depth naturally because
we have two eyes set horizontally apart by a small amount giving us two
distinct perspectives on the world before us. Our brains fuse these two
distinct views into a single view with depth. The aim of 3D photography is to
replicate this effect and perhaps even expand on it. CLIK 3D makes 3D
photography easy. Compose your image and click! CLIK 3D does the rest,
processing and combining your images into
stunning hi-res prints, 3D Digital Motion and/or Digital Analglyphs. Best of
all, your CLIK 3D prints are "auto-stereoscopic", meaning they
require no special device or 3D glasses for viewing.
QUESTION: Can I take 3D pictures with my regular
camera?No. You need a special
3D
camera, designed with multiple lenses.
QUESTION: Do I need special equipment or film?
You do need a
specialized
3D
camera that uses ordinary 35mm negative film available in most retail
stores.
QUESTION: How can I get started?
It's a simple three step
process: buy a
3D
camera from us, take your pictures and send the
exposed film back to us. You can buy one of our
3D
cameras on line and either download a film processing
order form or order one of our Start Up Kits
which includes everything you need to process your 3D pictures.
QUESTION: How long does a film developing order
take? 3D prints generally take two to three weeks from the time we develop
the film to the time we ship your final 3D prints. Services such as 3D digital
images can add more time to the turnaround.
After you mail your film, it
typically takes up to 5 business days for it to reach our studio. We then
develop, digitize and print your film, ship your 3D prints, negatives and
digital images back to you - all within 30 days of our original receipt of your
film.
We consider 3D printmaking an
art, giving each image individualized attention. We are an imaging studio not a
one hour lab that pushes images through a fixed process.
We know that receiving your
printed films back in a timely manner is important to you so that we offer our
CLIK 3D Performance Guarantee, that if we fail to mail
your completed films back to you within 30 days of our receipt of your film,
your next roll will be processed by us at no charge.
QUESTION: Why does it take so long for my film order to be
processed? Your film is very important to us so we exercise
special care with every roll. Every effort is made to obtain the best possible
results. We do not use the automated print/processing methods that are in
common use by commercial labs processing standard film.
Our staff have extensive
backgrounds in photography and digital imaging. Each print that we process is
carefully hand registered by our master printers on specialized materials to
ensure optimal 3D effect.
The labor intensive processes
involved in treating each roll individually makes it expensive to process your
film; but this produces the best possible results. We feel it is worth the
extra effort.
QUESTION: Why is the price for processing 3D film more
expensive than for regular photos?
The additional cost is a direct result of the
additional labor and material costs involved in processing these 3D
images.
Our 3D prints feature
archival ink on a hi-gloss film including an additional coating to further
protect your images from fading caused by UV (ultra-violet) exposure. Combine
this with advanced patented lenticular-lens material, experienced staff that
hand registers each print for optimal 3D effect and a print life of at least 60
years!
QUESTION: How do I order reprints?
Just use fill out our
Reprint Order Form, including the negative # to
be printed, how many copies and what sizes. We offer 3.5" x 4.5",
5" x 7" and 8" x 10". Plus, you can contact us to
order custom enlargements of
your 3D photos in any size up to 90" x 40".
QUESTION: How do I check the status of my order?
If you supplied
your email address on your film developing order form, we will email you as
soon as your photos have been processed. If you have additional questions about
the status of your order, please use our Order Status
form to contact customer
service. Though we are delighted to hear from you, please note before
calling us by telephone that we may not be able to provide detailed information
on your film if it has just arrived or is in the production department.
QUESTION: Can CLIK 3D process and print film taken with all
types of consumer 3D cameras?
Yes, including film taken with the 4 lens
(Nimslo), 3 lens (Image Tech) and 2 lens (U.S. Tech ) consumer 3D
cameras.
QUESTION: Will a 4 lens
camera take a better 3D picture than my 3 or 2 lens cameras?
All consumer 3D
cameras are capable of taking excellent consumer 3D photographs. While a larger
number of lens on a camera gives a lenticular print a wider angle of view of
the 3D effect, as in all facets of photography, the quality of a 3D photograph
is more determined by the skill of the photographer than the equipment
used.
QUESTION: Why is it when I
use my 3D camera I never get as many 3D pictures as the film that I loaded has
exposures?
It must be remembered that a 3D camera requires
twice the amount of film as a regular camera in order to create a single 3D
photograph. Two and Three lens cameras each use 1½ frames per shot while a
four lens camera uses 2 frames per shot. The expected yields from 3D consumer
cameras are as follows:
4 Lens 36 exposures = 18 3D
photographs
4 Lens 24 exposures = 12 3D
photographs
3 Lens 36 exposures = 24 3D
photographs
3 Lens 24 exposures = 18 3D
photographs
2 Lens 36 exposures = 24 3D
photographs
2 Lens 24 exposures = 18 3D
photographs
QUESTION: Can I get regular
flat 2D prints made from film taken with a 3D camera?
Yes. Just take your negative
to your local photo lab and have them print one of the multiple images into a
standard print.
QUESTION: Is the mail a safe
way for me to send and receive my film?
For the most part, yes. The
U.S. Postal Service continues to use irradiation technology on targeted mail -
not all mail - in its effort to keep the mail safe from biohazards. The only
mail currently being irradiated is mail going to specific U.S. government
offices in ZIP Codes 202, 203, 204, and 205. For more information,

QUESTION: What other products
or services do you offer?
In addition to selling
3D
cameras and providing 3D processing services
we sell unique 3D images, 2D to 3D conversion,
Archival Scans and Digital Analglyphs.
QUESTION: How do I return
items or get a refund?

original packaging materials. All returns are subject to a 20% administrative

print/processing orders; re-furbished, out-of-stock, and special order items;
or for shipping and handling charges.
